Central England Business Angels presents to Angels opportunities which have been coached to be investor ready, supplying sufficient information to enable an early decision to be made, giving the SME a greater chance of attracting investment. We review your business plan and associated documents, provide guidance on any improvements (if any), consider with the Entrepreneur a valuation which is likely to be acceptable to Angels, and design a funding strategy. Central England Business Angels continues supporting Enrepreneurs post funding by providing a Post Funding programme that will assure a benefical reporting process back to the Investors during the life of the investment.
Raising finance can be very time consuming and many a business has suffered severely from the management "taking their eye off the ball". At Central England Business Angels we take away much of the process of fund raising and chasing, having contacts throughout Central England with all funding sources. We know what it takes to raise money, much of it boiling down to preparation.
The typical (but not exhaustive) criteria for an SME with Central England Business Angels is:
- Sectors - all sectors are considered, even low tech, if there is evidence of reasonable growth. Demonstrating a good market is necessary, together with a competitive advantage to access that market.
- Stage - the Central England Business Angels registered Angels are used to seeing start ups as well as trading businesses, although "proof of concept" can be very difficult, as can consultancies and recruitment.
- Location - SME's located in Central England.
- Funds - Central England Business Angels has an expertise at fund raising up to £250,000 but will consider up to £500,000.
- Management - it is advantageous if the management have relevant experience and an understanding of the market.
- Business plan - it is preferable that the SME has a business plan but help can be given with its preparation, if needed.
- Preferably, eligible for EIS.
